CheckLex:
Official Journal electronic signature verification
CheckLex enables you to verify the authenticity of the electronic edition of the Official Journal of the European Union. If verification succeeds, it gives you a guarantee that the electronic edition is authentic, and it has not been changed since the date of its signature/seal.
Effective 1 July 2013, the electronic edition of the Official Journal is authentic and produces legal effects, pursuant to Regulation 216/2013 on electronic publication of the Official Journal, as amended. The authenticity, integrity and inalterability of the electronic edition of the Official Journal is ensured via the use of qualified trust services in accordance with Regulation 910/2014 (currently a qualified electronic seal).
Since the entry into force of Regulation No 2024/741 on 14 March 2024, the printed edition of the Official Journal, which is published during an unforeseen and exceptional disruption of the IT systems, produces legal effects until the electronic edition of the Official Journal is made available on EUR-Lex.
